please i need your help, my house was sold at auction, now what?
ok, my house is gone closure (investment property), bank, bought it on sale. I think they are trying to get money out of it. The problem is the second mortgage company, they want their money, with everything I know about the mortgage industry, I know that the first is always the comes first. As far as I know the first mortgage is to list the house for sale so they do not lose, and I know the state of Maryland requires 1 to notify any other person who is registered on the title before the sale a court appointed. I do not know what to do, the collection agency is calling me ask for the money I did not, they still say they are ready to conclude an agreement. What are my rights, property was in Maryland and I currently live in New Jersey. NJ has very strict laws Judgement, the last thing I need is a garnishment of wages on little money I do now. Any advice would be Thank you, I may have to contact a lawyer ..
You need to know if the state you are in a state the use or not. If not, the lienholder May 2 have no legal way to collect something from you. Well sure, it will ruin your credit, but you can not actually pay them anything. Ask a real estate lawyer. They should be better able to advise you. I do not know the law in New Jersey relating to this subject.
